The Stockyard in Brighton is closed "until further notice" according to the restaurant's website, which cites renovations as the culprit. However it seems something more than a mere facelift is afoot. Universal HUB declares that the restaurant "has gone to that great cattle drive in the sky" based in part on rumors posted in the UH comments section, which suggest that the team behind "West on Central" (West on Centre?) bought it and may reopen by October. The Stockyard had the appetizing distinction of being the the Boston steakhouse closest to the Mass Pike. Time will tell whether it's closed for now or forever, but if you try to go get a 24-oz prime rib there anytime soon, you'll be sorely disappointed.
