Chef Brian Poe's Tip Tap Room officially opens today, June 18 in Beacon Hill. The conceptually named restaurant serves a multitude of tips, going far beyond the standard steak tips and venturing into emu and yak territory, and features a healthy selection of beer on tap. The Improper Bostonian notes that this isn't the first time chef Poe has turned around a dubious space, having brought class to the Rattlesnake and now completely reimagined what was the Shangri-la, a "greasy Chinese restaurant with a tendency to look the other way when Suffolk freshmen wanted a scorpion bowl." The Tip Tap Room also plans to do brunch.
