Here to fan the flames of Boston's barbecue madness is Back Deck, opening in Downtown Crossing today, June 18, at 4pm. UrbanDaddy reports on the Back Deck menu, with starters like hot wings and grilled chicken liver, small plates including a lamb kefta skewer, burgers and main plates with manly-man names like "Cowboy Steak," which is rubbed with coffee and served with chimichurri. And what's a barbecue restaurant without beer? Drafts - available in pitchers! - and bottles are all regional and summery cocktails include the Domaine De Canton-laced Ginger Arnold Palmer. For comparison, here's the original preview menu. Back Deck comes from the founder of Fajitas & 'Ritas with former The Fireplace exec chef Paul Sussman as chef and GM.
Update: Back Deck says it doesn't do barbecue: "We're all about hardwood charcoal grilling." [Twitter]
