A tipster has it from a trusted industry source that longtime Harvard Square staple Harvest may be planning a move. The restaurant has been at its off-Brattle St. location since the 70's, and its secluded digs have always been part of the appeal. Harvest is rumored to have been a Julia Child favorite and at some point or another has seen the likes of nearly every big name Boston chef in its kitchen, including Lydia Shire, Chris Schlesinger, Barbara Lynch, Frank McClelland and Jasper White. Would a new location imply a revisit to Harvest's concept, will the restaurant remain in Harvard or go to another square that doesn't share the same first four letters of the restaurant's name, or is said tipster just confused about the Harvest Coop in Central Square's upcoming move? Stay tuned for those answers and more.
Update: Chef Mary Dumont tells Eater that Harvest has no plans to move.
