Last night Boston won big at the 2012 James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Awards, aka "The Oscars of Food." Barbara Lynch's No. 9 Park took home the award for Outstanding Wine Program and Tim Cushman of O Ya won the award for Best Chef: Northeast. The JBF awards are a big deal, if not the biggest deal, in the world of food awards, and last night's victory is continuing proof of Boston's unimpeachable reputation as an utterly top-notch food city. Other Boston finalists included Ming Tsai for his show Simply Ming, pizza connoisseur Jamie Bissonnette, who was also in the running for Best Chef: Northeast for his work at Coppa, and Joanne Chang of Flour Bakery + Café, for Outstanding Pastry Chef.
