The Boston Globe confirms that a former Boston Common restroom will soon house a branch of the Earl of Sandwich chain. This will be the chain's second location in Boston, the first being in Logan Airport. The old stone building, known as the Pink Palace, has been vacant since the 1970's, showing signs of disrepair. This new addition to the Common comes on the heels of another effort to revitalize the park, the recent renovation of Brewer Fountain Plaza near Tremont Street.
