Tea and Authors; Sickening Shelfish Bacterium

BACK BAY - Art New England Magazine curates a new book salon featuring tea service and conversations with authors and artists, starting this month at the French Room at Taj Boston. Saturday, May 19, from 10am to 12pm, $89 includes tea and a book copy. [Official Site]

HUB-WIDE - Ah, summer. The warm weather, the trips to the beach, the vibrio parahaemolyticus. State officials are concerned that as summer approaches, trends of warmer ocean temps will mean more of that bacterium, which likes to hang out in raw shellfish and can have seriously nasty effects. Officials are hoping to create new regulations that will keep the oyster supply safe and sound without any impact on availability. [Cape Cod Times]

THE PRU - Haru presents a new two-person, three course tasting menu called "Terriyaki for Two." The offer is available during all regular hours. For more info, call 617.536.0770.
