Chef Rebecca Newell doesn't currently serve pizza at The Beehive. Except for tonight. Newell created a special pizza exclusively for Pizza Week that will be available only for dinner this evening. Her feelings about pizza are clear. "It's probably one of my favorite foods. I love it. I'm not a pizza snob, though: I'll eat any pizza." For her specialty pie, Newell combined chicken sausage, truffled ricotta, pesto and in-house mozzarella with foraged morels, wine cap, and hen of the woods mushrooms. What was her inspiration? "Oh, it's springtime, man." The pizza is available for dinner tonight at The Beehive, 541 Tremont Street, South End, 617.423.0069.
Update: Newell reports that "the mushroom dude" just stopped by, so the wine caps are also locally foraged.
