As it turns out Liberty Wharf is not getting a new Cheers but may become home to Little Chestnut Boston Harbor, a new bar by the team from 75 Chesnut in Beacon Hill, who also own Cheers, hence the prior rumor. Universal HUB reports that restaurateur Thomas A. Kershaw asks the city licensing board this week for the go-ahead to open at Liberty Wharf in a 1,490-square-foot that "is now a vacant 'kiosk' next to the main wharf complex" and that could fit 60. If the drink list is anything like at 75 Chestnut, expect seasonal martinis including organic and local spirits like those from Bully Boy Distillers.
