Yesterday Boston.com reported that a new Italian cafe called Caffe Aromi was hoping to gain the necessary permit to open on Centre Street in JP's Hyde Square, and today the restaurant tweets that it has gotten the go-ahead. (Also tweeted was the word "YAY!") Caffe Aromi tells Eater that it is still waiting for a final inspection but is hoping to open on April 15th. The cafe will function primarily as a coffeeshop, serving espresso drinks, George Howell coffee, pastries, panini, soups and smoothies. Eventually Caffe Aromi plans to stay open until 11pm, but will at first be open from 6am to 6pm. It occupies the space formerly known as the June Bug Cafe, which closed in 2010.
