The dining scene in Somerville's Union Square is becoming only hotter with news that Tim Wiechmann of T.W. Food will now open a new restaurant called Bronwyn. Chowder reports that Bronwyn, named for chef Wiechmann's wife, who owns and runs T.W. Food, will serve “new American” cuisine with Austrian, Northern Italian, and especially German influences. For instance, there will be an outdoor beer garden and a sausage-heavy menu featuring in-house thuringer and blutwurst and other offerings similar to items on the charcuterie plate at T.W. Food.
Bronwyn will be larger and more casual than the Wiechmanns' existing restaurant, and it's expected to open at 255 Washington St. this fall. Other upcoming Union Square venues include Fortissimo and Cafe Tango and The Bearded Pig.
