Charley's on Newbury Street might be in danger of losing its lease now that the building where it resides is being sold. The Boston Business Journal reports that the owners of 284 Newbury St. are putting the building up for sale and that the lease for Charley's is up. The restaurant, which occupies the basement retail level and the first floor of the building, "would like to stay, but the owners are entertaining offers for retail and other restaurants." Charley's will likely face some fierce competition for the space, as larger retail tenants have increasingly shown interest in that section of Newbury Street.
