Wheeler del Toro's Afro-Cuban inspired pop-up Barrio is returning to Boston after an appearance in Philly, and this time chef Tim Maslow of Strip-T's has signed on to lend his skills. Maslow's menu may include some or all of the following: grilled skirt steak with chimichurri, sunchokes, maitake mushrooms and pickled peppers followed by chocolate and shiitake pots de crème infused with thyme butterscotch and served with lemon confit. Del Torro will be contributing dishes showcasing truffles, including black and white truffle crostinis and a spicy white truffle squash soup.
Barrio will next pop-up on Thursday, April 26 at 8pm at a yet undisclosed location, and again on Saturday, April 28 at 9pm, featuring Matt Drummond, chef de cuisine at Brasserie Jo.
