This coming Saturday at 5pm, the sleek new restaurant and bar Tonic opens on Washington Street in JP. This is Ryan Kelly's first gig as executive chef, having previously worked at Haru Sushi and Clio. Tonic seats 70 plus 15 more at the bar and will serve "American cuisine with global flair" including dishes like parsnip chowder with "candy" bacon, tempura clams, caramelized shallots and chervil as well as duck breast with pomegranate molasses, rhubarb, Asian pear, and ramp chutney. Yes, there will be a banh mi. At the bar you'll find in-house limoncello, two shades of sangria, ten craft beers plus cocktails.
