The Boston Business Journal reports that former investment banker Ruta Laukien will open Liquid Art House on Arlington Street in Back Bay. The 8,000-square foot space will seat 215 and will feature a "mix of different cuisines including from her native Lithuania." Laukien, who has no prior restaurant experience, has hired Jeff Fournier, chef/owner of 51 Lincoln in Newton, as chef and partner. An art gallery, a hot chef, a big space, healthy financial backing and a Lithuanian-influenced menu: it's safe to say there's nothing else quite like this anywhere in town, if anywhere at all. The restaurant is slated to open spring of 2013. For a video about Liquid Art House, see here.
