A new restaurant may be in the works for a currently abandoned warehouse on Summer Street in Fort Point. Banker & Tradesman reports that the building is being redeveloped into an office space and "is getting serious interest from restaurant operators for the building's ground floor retail space." Earlier the Globe reported that another nearby and nearly identical looking warehouse on Congress Street would also be redeveloped to include "a ground-floor restaurant that will spill out onto a 1,200-square-foot patio" that will also be "the area’s first outdoor dining spot."
The Congress Street space come from the folks who built the FP3 housing and restaurant complex, which is affiliated with Barbara Lynch's Drink, Menton and Sportello. So if anyone was going to give them a new restaurant, Lynch is probably good bet. Fort Point: it's not just the Innovation District, but the Future Home of Dueling Formerly Abandoned Warehouses with New Restaurants District, too.
