Eater hears that chef-owner Michael Schlow is on track to open Happy’s Bar & Kitchen, his fifth area restaurant, on Boylston in the Fenway in April. After tackling Latin inspirations with Tico, Schlow now has his sights set on diner fare like burgers and fries, boozy milkshakes and matzoh ball soup as well as stuff you'd never actually find at a diner, like tuna crudo with spicy cucumbers. There will also be daily blue plate specials, like the one-pound meatball prototype leaked earlier this month. Schlow's other venues include Radius, Via Matta and Alta Strada. Happy's Bar & Kitchen will occupy the former Burtons Grill space.
