As rumored earlier, Toscano of Beacon Hill will be crossing the river to open a new location in Harvard Square that will replace Cafe of India on Brattle. Confirmation comes from The Harvard Crimson, which says the second location is slated to open this fall. The Crimson also suggests that the expansion will lean more towards casual with a "focus on pizza and pastas... to cater to a different clientele." Expect a complete interior renovation, and Boston Restaurant Talk notes that the hearing for the liquor license transfer will take place tonight. The new location may or may not still be called Toscano Squared, as reported earlier. According to its website, Cafe of India opened its doors 22 years ago.
