The Herald reports that execs from the Rose Kennedy Greenway racked up bills in Boston and in NYC using tax-funded grant money "intended for operation and maintenance" of the park. Local restaurant charges included meals at The Barking Crab, Cosi and Rabia’s Italian Seafood and Oyster Bar. The NYC trip included a night at luxury hotel with MP3 connections built into the pillows, which could only be justifiable if they were listening to podcasts about how to bring more food trucks to the Greenway while drifting off. The news calls into question the value of lunch. Could a working lunch enhance the operation and maintenance of the park? And if it's on our dime, can't we at least pick the restaurant?
