The 2012 SoBe Wine & Food Festival in Miami ended yesterday, but earlier in the week Boston represented with a "Mexican hangover brunch" assembled by chefs Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette of Coppa and Toro. Of course Oringer also owns La Verdad and is therefore no stranger to tortillas. Under a hot Florida sun the two whipped up chilaquiles, huevos rancheros and menudo served alongside goji berry margaritas, grapefruit margaritas, micheladas and tequila Bloody Marys. Locals liked it so much that they may try to lure Oringer and Bissonnette away. Says the Miami NewTimes: "Thanks to Bâoli, Vida Tequila, and those two damn good Boston chefs. Hey guys: when it comes to opening a place down here, we're ready whenever you are."
