The owners of Coolidge Corner Wine and Spirits will be opening a new restaurant called Hops N Scotch Bar and Grill where the recently closed Coolidge Corner branch of Finale once was. The new venue is just a few doors down from the store, which the Boston Business Journal considers potential proof of a successful business model: "Managing a wine and liquor store for four years is a one way to conduct market research for a restaurant."
The paper reports that Hops N Scotch hopes to open by May and will serve "craft beer and micro brews, boutique wine, and high-end scotch, whiskey, bourbon and rye" as well as "casual American comfort foods." (Not that you need to run a liquor store for four years to spot those trends.) The BBJ caught wind of the news from Boston Restaurant Talk, which estimates that there will be about 30 beers on tap.
