The Seaport District shows no signs of slowing down as a destination for new restaurants, especially ones with big names like Mario Batali and Geoffrey Zakarian, and now a local restaurant group with several existing venues is looking to open another bar or restaurant or, more likely, barstaurant here. In an interview with the Boston Business Journal, The Briar Group CEO Austin O'Connor says "We definitely hope to add a new location to the family sometime in 2013" and adds that "We also think there's more opportunity in the Seaport area." Those increasingly attractive burbs are also mentioned as a possible site of expansion. The Briar Group owns tons of Irish pub-like establishments around town, including The Harp near TD Garden, M.J. O'Connor's at Park Plaza and on the Waterfront and City Bar, in Back Bay and also on the Waterfront. So what's one more waterfront restaurant? Prediction: it will be Irish.
