Ittoku May Serve Sapporo-Like Ramen

A new Japanese restaurant called Ittoku is slated to move into the current home of Petit Robert Bistro on Comm Ave in Brighton, and not only will it serve ramen, as previously reported, but it may serve ramen like that of local favorite Sapporo Ramen in Porter Square, made by some of the Sapporo Ramen team themselves. The blog Japanese-American in Boston hears that Ittoku is "a joint venture between Carlos Garcia of Café Mami, 2 people from Sapporo Ramen, and Chiki-san, a sushi chef at Ebi Sushi" and that the restaurant hopes to open in early 2013.

Ramen hunger/thirst is an an all time high in Boston, and it's a wonder more shops don't cater to the void. Porter Square newcomer YumeWoKatare has earned as much attention for its authentic rendition of the ramen genre known as jiro as it has for its massive lines, and chef Louis DiBiccari of Storyville, Chef Louie Night, and the upcoming Tavern Road recently said "It feels like someone is beating us over the head with ramen right now." Well, prepare to get beat some more.
