Earlier this week came news that longtime Harvard Square icon Casablanca has finally closed, and now Chowder reports that a new life is in store for the old space: chef Michael Scelfo of Russell House Tavern is moving in. And, says Chowder, this will be Scelfo's first solo project. He says "It's just an honor to be in that space, because it has such a legacy in Boston for food, and so many good chefs have been there over the years." Scelfo put the nearby Russell House Tavern on the map with his innovative, whole-animal dishes like lamb belly toast and pigs tail pierogi, so it's exciting to say the least to see what he'll do on his lonesome.
