Hotel Commonwealth Sold; 2013 Predictions

HUB-WIDE - "What will 2013 mean for the food scene?" wonders Cassandra Landry in this chef-studded predictions feature for The Phoenix. Says Tiffani Faison of Sweet Cheeks: "I think in Boston we'll be dealing with too many seats and not enough people." [TP]

KENMORE - The Hotel Commonwealth - home of Eastern Standard, Island Creek Oyster Bar and The Hawthorne - has indeed been sold, says BU Today. But don't worry: "The three will continue to be run by their current leadership." [BUT]

SOMERVILLE - The Washington Post takes a trip to the magical land of Somerville and declares that it "brims with sensational small bites." No word on the large bites, but The Independent's "neo-tavern cuisine has included tangy peppers stuffed with avocado mousse and jicama salsa." [WP via GS]
