On Friday night a group of Somervillians and members of the Latin American immigrant rights group Centro Presente held a protest outside of Diva in Davis square, says Open Media Boston. The immediate cause was that Diva had fired an employee, but the protesters' beef with Diva goes deeper, relating to a history of alleged wage violations by the parent company One World Cuisine, which also runs Kashmir on Newbury Street and Bukhara in JP, among others. Open Media Boston reports that "Seven workers were fired from these restaurants and are currently suing for $183,500 in unpaid wages, unpaid overtime, and minimum wage violations."
