Pret a Manger Makes First Impact on November 16

Photo: Jamie Rogers

212_2007_09_efp.jpgThe UK-based international sandwich chain Pret a Manger has shared an opening date for its very first Boston location: next Friday, November 16. The chain has nearly 300 locations in four countries, and Boston's first will be in the Financial District, at 185 Franklin Street. Another will follow on its heels in Back Bay at 507 Boylston Street, and there could be even more to come. An inside source tells Eater that locations are also being considered for Harvard Square and Back Bay, among other spots.

The chain shared news of its local opening date via Facebook, where that information appears next to a picture of a potato wearing a Red Sox cap with olives for feet. The company prides itself on the freshness of its sandwiches and other prepared foods and its policy of "using natural ingredients and avoiding preservatives and obscure chemicals."
