Eater readers nominated over fifteen fine drinking establishments for the honor of Best Cocktail Bar in Boston as part of Cocktail Week. From there, voting narrowed the pool down to just five: No. 9 Park, The Hawthorne, Backbar, Drink, and Craigie on Main. The polls are now closed, and, as if you couldn't already tell from the title of this post, the winner is... No. 9 Park!
This Beacon Hill establishment from chef Barbara Lynch first opened in 1998 and has been heavily decorated ever since, including winning a James Beard Foundation award for Outstanding Wine Progam earlier this year. Interestingly, No. 9 Park beat out another Lynch establishment - Drink - which opened in 2008, also made it to the finals round, and which focuses primarily on cocktails, unlike No. 9 Park, which also serves a full menu.
Congrats to No. 9 Park and all of the excellent contenders and thanks to everyone who voted.
