Last month Deep Ellum in Allston was approved for later hours thanks in part to signatures from 1,500 thirsty/supportive patrons, and a representative from the restaurant says the new hours "quietly" went into effect last week. So here's what's different. Both Deep Ellum and the adjacent Lone Star Taco Bar are now open until 2am, up from a prior closing time of 1am for both venues and 11pm for the Deep Ellum patio. Food will be served later too, until 1:30am. For a city known for turning in a bit earlier than the party people might like, this bodes well. Now could those 1,500 people go sign some more petitions?
