Canadian tea chain DAVIDsTEA opened its first Boston store over the weekend in Downtown Crossing and plans to open a South End location on December 1st, according to a press release. Prior reports indicate that the company might be eyeing a Back Bay location as well. The just-opened location on Washington St. already has at least one customer raving about the "incredibly nice" staff. Founded in 2008, the chain has many locations across Canada, plus a few in the United States, and appears to do a lot of business online as well. The inventory covers an international selection of over 150 loose-leaf teas, along with some fun specialties like ice cream cake, organic root beer float, and love tea #9. They also sell tea accessories, including mugs, pots, and frothers.
