Where to Drink Wine on Beaujolais Nouveau Day

The food world has a lot of made-up, weirdly specific "holidays." Today, for instance, is National Bundt Cake Day, and it's also apparently National Split Pea Soup Week right now. Yep, it gets an entire week. National Spicy Guacamole Day was pretty recently, but does that mean that there's a National Non-Spicy Guacamole Day as well? Forget bundt cakes. There's one day that's actually pretty cool, and it happens to be today: Beaujolais Nouveau Day. This time every year, all around the world, wine drinkers celebrate the release of a special young wine from Southern France. Here's a round-up of places to partake of the wine in Boston and beyond.

Today

75 on Liberty Wharf will uncork the barrel at 5 PM tonight, and a menu of French classics (coq au vin, vol au vent, etc.) will be available until the wine runs out.
Both BRIX Wine Shop locations are hosting Beaujolais tastings tonight (5 PM to 7 PM in the Financial District; 6 PM to 8 PM in the South End).
Ceia Kitchen + Bar (Newburyport) is offering a three-course dinner with a bottle of Beaujolais for $48/person.
Chez Nous (Lee) is serving three courses of French classics to accompany the wine. $30/person includes the food and wine as well as recipes, a cooking demo, and "fun foodie conversation."
Sibling Rivalry is serving wine and hors d'oeuvres from 6 PM to 7:30 pm for $25/person.

Later

Chillingsworth in Brewster will host a multi-course wine dinner at 6:30 PM on Saturday for $110/person. Wine will include the 2012 Beaujolais as well as some older vintages.

Starting on Saturday, the Wine ConneXtion in North Andover will be selling bottles for $7.99 while supplies last.
