Here Comes a Ton More Not Your Average Joe's

Local restaurant chain Not Your Average Joe's just scored $15 million in financing to get much bigger, says the Boston Business Journal. The company currently has 17 restaurants mostly in the Boston burbs plus others near D.C. in Maryland and Virginia. In five years time, it plans to make that 50 restaurants, perhaps in Boston proper: the BBJ says the company is considering opening its new locations "from Boston to Washington, D.C." The first Not Your Average Joe's opened in 1994. Some sample menu items from the Watertown location: stuffed quahogs, "Asian" chicken dumplings, burgers, sandwiches, and pizza. Clearly, a highly un-average selection.
