Only One El Triunfo Left Standing, Portofino's Moves In

Last month the North End of location of the Mexican-Salvadoran-Mediterranean restaurant El Triunfo closed, and now a second El Triunfo has closed on Broad Street in the Financial District. That means there's only one left, on East Berkeley Street in the South End. A post on Chowhound says that signage is now up at the former Broad Street El Triunfo for a restaurant called Portofino's Italian Kitchen, which turns out to be an expansion of a restaurant by the same name in Abington, MA. An employee from the original tells Eater that the new Portofino's should be open in a month to a month and half. Portofino's has an extensive Italian-American menu of pizza, calzones, pasta, salads and subs plus the occasional kebab.
