The Salvadoran favorite Pupuseria Mama Blanca on Maverick Street in East Boston is no longer, reports local restaurant critic MC Slim JB via Chowhound, which Boston Restaurant Talk confirms, as does a call to the establishment, which shows the number to be not in service. "I'm now wondering if Blanca's Grill in the old El Buen Gusto space was basically Pupuseria moving to a better location," wonders Slim. A new business called La Esquinita is slated to take the place of the pupuseria, and while there's no information currently available about that venue, there is a shop just a few blocks away called La Esquina Supermarket. While any connection is unconfirmed, the proximity and the very simular, diminutive "La Esquinita" (Spanish for "little corner") suggests that this venture could be an expansion by the supermarket's owners. Stay tuned, and hit up the tipline with any additional info.
