Several DAVIDsTEA Locations Brewing

In addition to the previously reported possible upcoming South End opening of the first Boston branch of DAVIDsTEA, the Canadian tea chain has signed a lease in Downtown Crossing and is looking for a space in Back Bay as well, the Herald reports. The Downtown Crossing store will be at 294 Washington St. and is expected to open before the holidays. The four-year-old chain specializes in loose-leaf teas, which it sells at locations across Canada, in California and New York, and online. According to BosGuy, who has been keeping an eye on the proposed South End location, DAVIDsTEA serves tea by the cup in addition to retail, but no food. Yelp reviews from California and New York locations seem to confirm this, but who needs food when you can get birthday cake-flavored tea?
