The owners of both locations of The Paramount and Dorchester's The Blarney Stone have bought The Stockyard in Brighton, which closed back in July, for $4 million. Boston.com reports that the the new owners plan to "maintain the restaurant's general concept, but will introduce a new menu and make some cosmetic improvements." After all, when you shell out that kind of dough, you at least get to add a new appetizer. But here's some even more surprising numbers than that of the hefty price tag: the property includes "more than one acre of land... with more than 125 parking spaces" - what other Boston-area restaurant can you say that about? The restaurant's new owner is just three years older than the restaurant itself, which opened back in 1970.
