Ready to eat? While it was previously reported that the British chain Pret a Manger was eyeing the former Borders space near Copley, signage popped up over in the Financial District last week. The Copley location is still definitely happening as well, confirms an Eater tipster, who swung by a Pret a Manger hiring tent near the old Filene's a few weeks ago. The recruiters confirmed with the tipster that there will be two locations opening in November, so both neighborhoods can look forward to a near future of plentiful pre-made sandwiches and other takeout-able meals.
Meanwhile, another tipster wrote in to say that in addition to the two confirmed locations, others are being considered as well, such as a Harvard Square, another spot in Back Bay, and elsewhere. The London-based chain, founded in 1986, prides itself on its use of "natural, preservative-free, ethically-sourced ingredients," and leftovers are donated to charity at the end of each day. Boston will be the fourth US city on its roster; DC, New York, and Chicago all have multiple locations.
