Daddy Jones will open in Somerville's Magoun Square on November 1, reports UrbanDaddy. The new venue will indeed serve Greek bar food in a retro setting that was once home to Lil Vinny's as prior reports suggested. A look at the menu reveals dishes like fried zucchini, cheese-stuffed phyllo triangles, a sausage sandwich on pita and the "Mac Daddy," a mac and cheese variant with cheddar, comte and elbow noodles. Decor wise, UrbanDaddy reports that the 35-seat bar and restaurant features "wall-mounted public-school lockers" and flatscreens streaming sitcoms from the 80's. The imminent opening of Daddy Jones proves yet for the umpteenth time that Somerville is hot restaurant property these days: future openings include Spoke Wine Bar, Burro Bar, Cobble Hill, and Bronwyn.
