Get Ready for Four More Downtown Crossing Restaurants

Four new restaurants are headed for Downtown Crossing, reports the Globe. An article published today says the Boston Redevelopment Authority "will soon announce restaurant leases in four downtown buildings, two of which have sat vacant for more than three years." If you were born yesterday, you might not think that news particularly newsworthy, what with Five Guys soon coming to the neighborhood and recent openings like Pedro's Tacos, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Sip Wine Bar & Kitchen and Back Deck.

But in the very recent past, this kind of restaurant activity in this part of town would be as believable as someone who was one day old having the cognitive skills to judge what is and isn't newsworthy. The Globe attributes the shift from "Downtown Crossing as a war-torn apocalyptic landscape, to Downtown Crossing as a place to buy in before the rents take off" to the upcoming residential tower bound for what was once Filene's. What restaurants would you like to see come to this part of town?
