A new floating restaurant called The Mooring is being discussed for the waters off East Boston, says the East Boston Times-Free Press. Boston Harbor Cruises owner Rick Nolan presented the idea at a recent neighborhood meeting and now needs to submit his plans to the Boston Harbor Master and the Coast Guard. The Mooring is looking to bob somewhere "between the Logan Hyatt and Piers Park" and would serve "mainly seafood options with entrees ranging between $14-$18" from May to October. Nolan also runs The Landing, a patio bar on Long Wharf, and says "we'd like to move that concept out into the harbor." Perhaps Nolan will eventually open restaurants on all of the major elements, including a restaurant in the air and one atop fire. A floating restaurant has also been discussed for the water near Wharf 8 and Pier 7.
