There's a good chance that the South End restaurant El Centro - one of the few places in the entire region for Sonoran-style Mexican food - is opening a second location, possibly in Brookline Village. A new location has long been a hope for El Centro chef-owner Allan Rodriguez, who told Eater back in May that "definitely yes, it's in my mind to expand," said he "would like to open another place" and that it "could be anywhere." Well, Brookline is indeed somewhere. Boston Restaurant Talk noticed that a city of Brookline calendar entry says the Washington Street Tibetan restaurant Tashi Delek is hoping to transfer its license to El Centro. BRT connects the dots and concludes that "El Centro to Replace Tashi Delek in Brookline Village," but so far there is no further confirmation from either party. Stay tuned and hit up the tipline with any intel of your own.
