The Tibetan restaurant Tashi Delek will close at the end of this month, making room for the expansion of El Centro at 236 Washington Street in Brookline Village. Lobsang Thargay, who owns Tashi Delek with his wife Phurbu, tells Eater that he started telling customers about the closure this morning so as not to surprise them later on. "It's bittersweet for us, " he says, adding that he is glad to have been able to share his food and culture with his customers since opening in 2007. Thargay will take a sabbatical when the restaurant closes, for family reasons. As of now, he has no plans to reopen Tashi Delek, so get your momos while you can.
