Cinquecento is among the most anticipated openings this fall, and the South End restaurant is inching ever closer to throwing open its doors to the public. The last word on an opening date was "mid-October" - which is, um, now - and Cinquecento operators The Aquitaine Group say via Craiglist that the restaurant is "preparing to open," so it would seem things are roughly on track for this month, if not mid-this month. Cinquecento is moving into the Harrison Ave space that once housed Rocca and bills itself as a "Roman trattoria." For preview shots of possible menu items, see Facebook.
