According to a job post on Craiglist, Tatte Fine Cookies & Cakes of Brookline is opening a new location called Tatte Bakery & Cafe in Kendall Square that will serve three meals a day. Quoth Craigslist: "We'll be expanding on our unique and delicious bakery products with quick-serve Breakfast, Lunch and full-serve Dinner menus." The Tatte website lists a "Tatte II" but says nothing more than "coming spring 2012." Tatte is known for its exquisitely crafted baked goods and iconic, rectangular "nut boxes" which are also sold at local farmers markets. Kendall blew up as a dining destination in 2011 with the opening of spots like Catalyst and is rumored to also get a French restaurant: a new bakery/cafe/restaurant might rival the existing bakery/cafe/restaurant that is Area Four.
