Mare Oyster Bar to Replace Mare

According to Boston Restaurant talk, the North End's Mare is now closed. But fear not: the restaurant's website says Mare Oyster Bar will open in February in the same spot. Mare's hook was sustainable seafood, and it seems the new restaurant is looking for a piece of the North End oyster pie currently dominated by Neptune Oyster. Mare opened in 2005 and was operated by De Pasquale Ventures, which owns several other North End restaurant including Bricco and Umbria Prime and which will be the force behind Mare Oyster Bar. Will adding oyster + bar to a closed restaurant's name be a formula for success, and if so, will there be an Anthony's Pier 4 Oyster Bar in the new South Boston Waterfront?
