What was once Boston Billiard Club will soon become a Yard House. The California-based restaurant chain has 35 locations flung about the country and first came to MA in 2009 when it set up shop in Dedham. Apparently that's been working well for them, so it's on to the big leagues: Fenway, to be exact. The Boston Business Journal says the restaurant plans to open on Brookline Ave on March 11 with 350 seats attended by a staff of 220.
The space is still under construction but we're told it will look similar to the location pictured at top. The menu will also be similar to those at other locations with the addition of locally sourced seafood. Yard House serves hipped up bar fare and has one section of the menu devoted to "street tacos," despite the fact they are being served inside of a restaurant. Another section features dishes made with a trademarked "chicken or beef substitute" called "Gardein." Not exactly what one associates with the Fenway crowd, but there will be plenty of booze to wash it down.
