Kendall Square's Catalyst is hopping aboard the brunch wagon. The restaurant plans to start serving brunch this Sunday and will do what many restaurants do for brunch these days: fairly brunchy dishes with flourishes. For instance, the "for the table" section of the new menu includes banana bread (brunchy) with dulce de leche (flourish) as well as chicken liver mousse, because who in this day and age could get through a Sunday morning without a little charcuterie? Main dishes include lobster on brioche with a poached egg, duck confit salad with persimmon (flourish!) and slow cooked oatmeal. The announcement comes after similar news that the very nearby Area Four also started brunch service last weekend. Which means we might just have to update the Brunch Heat Map...
