A headline in today's Herald declares "South Boston man held on drug charges," but that's not just any South Boston man: it's the son of Legal Sea Foods CEO Roger Berkowitz. Matthew Berkowitz has been charged not just with with trafficking opium but for doing so within 1,000 feet of a school zone, which he did yesterday. Last night he was locked up and today he awaits arraignment in South Boston District Court. The family lawyer says that the younger Berkowitz's drug habits were unknown until he was caught handing two kilos of opium to an undercover cop. We'll leave the "legal" puns to you.
