Boston is about to gain another cupcake chain when Crumbs Bake Shop comes to the Financial District, which might make it that much harder for the city to lose a million pounds. Crumbs started in NYC and has since spread up and down the East Coast and to California with a pit-stop in Chicago. A spokesperson from the company says we can expect the store to appear in about two months. Of course Boston already has several cupcakeries plus two cupcake trucks and will become home to another out of state chain this spring when Georgetown Cupcake arrives. Boston Restaurant Talk caught wind of the news from a post on Chowhound and notes that Crumbs serves regular cupcakes as well as six and half inch tall "colossal" cupcakes, also known as cakes.
