CAMBRIDGE - Bondir joins the list of restaurants planning Burns Suppers in honor of Scottish poet Robert Burns. Janurary 24th, $75, five courses with pairings. Call for reservations: 617.661.0009. [BG]
FENWAY - Church will be holding a Chili Cook-off starring contributions from Tasty Burger, Citizen, Sweet Cheeks and more. January 28th, 1:00pm to 4:00p, $8. Buy tickets at the door or here. [BostonChefs]
THE STATEHOUSE - Lawmakers have nixed a meal tax holiday, which would have turned the 6.25% tax on restaurant meals to 0% from March 18 to March 23. But there is still hope for a cheaper dining bill come spring: the holiday is now being reviewed by a special commission and may yet go forward. [BG]
